Showforce provided experienced event staff to The Planners Department for a ceremony held at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) on the 13th March to award the most energy efficient schools under Tarsheed22 (T22) campaign. The event recognised the 22 independent primary schools covered by the campaign who have reduced their annual consumption of electricity by 1.100 million unit and water by 4,350 cubic meter, saving QR 400,000 annually.
Overview/brief of Showforce’s involvement
The Showforce team included five male and five female hostesses and a supervisor, with a combination of English and Arabic speakers. Their responsibilities included welcoming guests and the VVIPs, directing them to the venue hall, guiding them to their seats within the auditorium and responding to any queries or questions.
Three schools received awards for being those most energy efficient participating in T22; the Othman bin Affan Model Independent School for Boys, Abu Hanifa Model Independent School for Boys, and Abi Ayub Al Ansari Model Independent School for Boys.
Designed to educate Qatar’s young people about energy conservation through a love of football, the program has achieved annual carbon emissions reductions surpassing 688 tonnes annually and brought Qatar one step closer to achieving a carbon neutral World Cup.
The event was attended by H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry; Fawzia Al Khater, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, Kharamaa President; Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy as well as other dignitaries and media representatives.
