Event overview

When leading creative agency Imagination was asked to deliver the design, installation and logistics for Canon EXPO 2015, leading crewing company Showforce was only too happy to lend a hand. The 15,000 sqm exhibition is the camera and printing company’s flagship event that takes place every five years.

Overview/brief of Showforce’s involvement

With a focus on imaging innovation and future technologies, Imagination brought Canon’s brand promise ‘Come and See’ to life, by creating 16 individual stories of customer experiences. More than 12,500 of Canon’s EMEA key partners and customers attended the three-day show that was held in Paris’ Grande Hall de la Villette.

Specifics/explanation

It was a massive undertaking for the team with some 270 articulated lorry loads of kit and equipment unloaded, installed and de-rigged for the event. From one of a kind, priceless pieces of Canon products to lighting, furniture and graphics. Imagination created 16 individual stories, all led by unique customer experiences, which provided a gateway into a diversity of products, technologies and solutions focused on professional print, photography, health, education, industry, media, retail and the consumer.

This was a repeat job for Showforce and project manager Mic Murphy as they assisted Imagination back in 2010 when the event was last held. Mic has enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with Imagination for more than 20 years, so when he celebrated his birthday during the build, the Imagination team organised a special surprise. Mic’s photograph and a Happy Birthday message were shown around the hall on the big screen.
