On the evening of the 30th July a commemorative event was held in the Market Square at Iper (Ypres) to mark the Centenary of Passchendaele – The Third Battle of Ypres. The spectacular included an impressive performance and projection mapping display which depicted how the war at Ypres Salient would have taken place. The event was broadcast on the BBC and dignitaries including Theresa May, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Charles.

Showforce assisted Panalux, who provided lighting equipment for the event, with installing lighting rigs, running cables and general site duties. Prior to the install, seven crew members worked at Panalux’s London-based warehouse loading the equipment required for the event. This was followed by a 15-man strong team of Showforce’s crew chiefs, experienced Working at Height crew and plant operators who travelled to Belgium from the UK. Showforce also provided local from one of their partners in the region who offered additional support at competitive rates.

With the entire job amassing an impressive 1159 man hours it is a great example of how Showforce is able to deliver a complete end to end service, with all levels of skill sets and experience included.

Panalux Gaffer Mark Gardiner was delighted with the service provided from Showforce,

“Showforce are my go to crewing company and again they didn’t disappoint. I needed a team that could multitask, be on hand to help at a moments notice and adapt to the changing goalposts that a large job often has. There was never any issue and the lads we had on site were not only great at their job but also a nice bunch of guys.”
