Event Overview

Showforce was delighted to assist global event producer, Chillout Productions with the delivery of the electrifying three-day Dubai Jazz Festival 2018. With performances from the likes of John Legend, Duran Duran and Ricky Martin, the festival took place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre from the 21st – 23rd February 2018.

Overview/ Brief of Showforce’s involvement

The Showforce team consisted of 133 crew, split into three teams who worked harmoniously leading up to the live event. The entire team played a vital part of the overall success of the event, supporting the client with a multitude of different tasks ranging from supporting the artists’ production teams, movement of equipment onsite and ensuring the cleanliness of all site and stage areas was maintained at all times.

Specifics/ explanation

The site crew were the first team onsite and responsible for tasks such as: installing scrims for the external fencing, placing fire extinguishers throughout the venue, installing queue barriers for ticketing and refreshment areas, moving equipment across the site and arranging internal portable cabins.

Whilst the stage crew were tasked initially with loading in all the bands’ equipment. They then assisted with the setup of each riser for the different artists and then packing up equipment ready for the load out on change over days. In addition, the stage crew supported the artists’ production teams with changes and swap outs.

Showforce’s clean-up crew were on-hand throughout and ensured that the site, stage and three grandstands were maintained to a presentable standard before, during and post event.

Once the festival came to an end, many of the crew members remained onsite to assist with the de-rig and clearing of the venue. They supported Chillout Productions with packing away artist equipment and loading it back into the trucks and generally assisting with the removal of all the event kit from around the site.
