Showforce Rocks!
Showforce can now add the MTV Europe Music Awards to a rapidly growing portfolio of Rock & Roll gigs crewed. We can proudly boast to have been an integral part of this years prestigious and globally renowned event at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, by far the largest and most complex live show to be hosted at the venue to date.
Showforce North crew, with combined support from our Birmingham branch, worked around the clock to finish in time for Thursday’s big night. Between 50 and 100 crew a day supported industry heavyweights in Lighting, Sound, Video, Red Carpet, Dressing, Set & Staging during a demanding and complex 12 day rig.
The build alone took over 1,000 crew, accumulating in excess of 10,000 man hrs. Some 50+ trucks were unloaded, 6 stages erected, 500 metres of truss assembled and literally hundreds of lights and video screens rigged.
Hosted by MTV’s Katy Perry and broadcast “Live” to an estimated 30 million viewers across the globe, headline acts on a spectacular night in the European city of culture included Estelle, Kanye West, Pink, Take That, Leona Lewis, Suga Babes, Duffy, Kid Rock & US rock giants The Killers. Showforce, as ever, were on hand assisting with follow spot duties and stage changes for all the artists.
When the curtain came down on a truely memorable night the demanding 24hr load out started, which we are proud to say was completed ahead of schedule!

A Busy September/October
It would be a long process trying to report all of the events we have been part of in the last few weeks, so here are some of the highlights:
The Motor Show was back in Paris and so were our trusted crew.
Assisting the UK’s leading sports marketing and event management company, we got involved in this year’s Dublin City Chase on 13 September and the Sky Sports London Freewheel on Sunday 21 September.
On the theatrical side of the business, we have been very busy with yet another fabulous production; Oliver will be running from 12 December and is now being installed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
And finally, some of our team have been positively baking under the Emirates’ sun while working on this year’s Cityscape Dubai, the largest business-to-business real estate investment and development event in the world.
